Mr. Wallis represents clients in a broad range of business and commercial areas. As counsel to businesses, community associations, entrepreneurs and individuals he reviews and prepares all varieties of business documents, negotiates terms of business deals, advises on business policies, practices, and procedures, assesses risk management, acts to enforce and protect client rights and interests, and counsels on client obligations.
Mr. Wallis is an experienced condominium and homeowner association attorney. He advises and guides boards of directors and managers through issues concerning statutory and governing document interpretation, election procedures, unauthorized encroachment on common areas, community relations, collections and the claim of lien process through foreclosure.
Mr. Wallis' litigation and appellate experience aids him in his zealous advocacy of his clients in civil and commercial litigation cases in areas such as breach of contract, unfair or fraudulent business practices, individual property rights, collections, foreclosures, and personal injury claims. Before founding Wallis & Wallis, Mr. Wallis was Associate General Counsel for a U.S. public company providing international online publishing and financial services. As a General Counsel he gained broad experience in business law. He managed the legal interests and advised on operations of eleven European and North American offices including: business organization and structuring; contract and agreement negotiations and drafting; software licensing; international regulatory compliance and filing requirements; and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Wallis oversaw trademark, service mark, copyright protection, and unfair business practices matters.
Prior to his experience as a General Counsel, Mr. Wallis' practice involved condominium and homeowner association law, foreclosures, general and commercial litigation and personal injury matters.
Mr. Wallis is licensed to practice in the State of Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Wallis received his Associates in Applied Science degree in Musical Instrument Technology from Five Towns College, his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the State University of New York College at Old Westbury (Honors in Academic Excellence), and his Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School. Mr. Wallis served on the New York Law School Moot Court Association Executive Board, as Chairman of its intramural moot court competition, and was also Managing Editor of the Media Law and Policy Journal. Mr. Wallis earned the honor of National Member of The Order of Barristers.
